Ukraine Emergency Relief

Ukraine needs our prayers and support.

Over one million refugees have already fled Ukraine and that number may climb as high as four million in the coming days. Some of these refugees may make their way to the United States and even Kentucky. The need is great and conditions heartbreaking.

You can help. You can make a difference.

How?

Pray.

Young and old, children of God can and should pray. God tells us,

“The prayer of a righteous [saved] person is powerful and effective.”
— James 5:16 (NIV)

Prayer is one of the most powerful ways we can each help.

Commit to pray daily. Some specific requests for which to pray:

  • For peace

  • For wisdom, grace, and divine intervention for world leaders

  • For those involved to come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ

  • For provision and protection

  • For grace and mercy for the people of God in the midst of this horror

  • For those serving

  • For the people of God everywhere to keep their eyes and hearts fixed on Him

Give.

For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me…
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
— Matthew 25: 35-36,40

East Somerset Relief Funds

We are diligent to make as sure as possible that the funds we send actually arrive and are utilized as intended. There are many great organizations and agencies working with the crisis. At present, we are sending Ukrainian Refugee Emergency Relief funds to two entities: Mike and Julie Rogers, Missionaries in Romania, and SEND RELIEF.

Mike and Julie Rogers,
Missionaries in Romania

We have known and supported the Rogers for years. They are taking funds received, buying needed supplies, and physically delivering them to the Ukrainian border. They are working in partnership with a contact who is taking what is brough into Ukraine and distributing to those in miles long lines, mostly women and children, waiting to leave the country as refugees.

We are in active contact with Mike and Julie and their sending pastor, Bro. Bobby Ball, and church. We will send funds as long as they can be utilized.

SEND RELIEF is the emergency relief arm of the International Mission Board and KBC (Kentucky Baptists). Funds sent will be immediately sent to SEND relief as they work with pastors, churches, and volunteers on both sides of the Ukrainian border.
